multi platform using of subversion

Dear list,

For development, I would like to use the same (physical) directory on both
Windows and Linux. I already versioned my content and am currently updating/
committing it from within Windows (e:\develop\myproject). When I try to do
the same on Linux (/data/develop/myproject), I get an error message, that
the working directory is missing.
There seems to be stored the absolute path somewhere in the .svn directory.
Is this assumption correct? And furthermore how can I make subversion run
under both Windows and Linux on the same (physical) directory?

Kind regards,

Stephan
