Thanks for the reply Konstantin.
I was unable to locate the environment variable you mentioned, but I figured out a way around my problem. I simply reinstalled a version of 1.6, unchecked the appropriate box under the settings and reinstalled version 1.7. Everything is working fine again. Sorry to have changed the subject on the thread here. It was just the only place I found pertinent info.
