Feature request: narrow/filter path names on commit dialog

I often need to commit changes to a few files that are scatter among several other modified files. So, I visually search thru the list presented and it's a bit of a pain.

How about a file path 'filter' feature on the commit dialog? It could simply narrow the listview contents using a pattern entered in an edit control.

It could possibly be placed below the list, right-justified under the label showing the number of files selected.
