Now that's very unexpected:
if you compare the urls
http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/svn/tortoisesvn/tags/version-1.5.5 with
http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/svn/tortoisesvn/tags/version-1.5.4 you'll
discover that only *one* code file was modified between those two
versions, and that one has nothing to do with the overlays or the status
cache.
