It is good to know that subversion and tortoisesvn are able to work
side-by-side on a client, this would indeed enable people to silently
perform automatic updates, with a (hopefully minimal) amount of
scripting.

But there is still no way to perform automatic checking, without
performing an automatic update.

Which of course implies there's no way to change a client's icon to
indicate that someone else has done something to the file.
