Ok, let's describe it one more time:

1-Install TSVN r8473 on Windows XP
2-Open repo-browser:
  a-Right click on your desktop
  b-Select repo-browser
  c-Write down your repository URL
3-Right click on a folder in your repository
4-Select 'Checkout...' and look at the checkout dialog:
a-we can see that URL of repository IS NOT the FOLDER URL previously selected
b-checkout directory is something like 'C:\Temp\<foldername>'
5-Select again the folder to checkout using '...'
6-Change 'C:\Temp\<foldername>' to 'C:\..\Desktop\..\<folderofyourchoice>'
using '...'
7-Now click OK to proceed and LOOK: A WARNING DIALOG appears telling me that
folder 'C:\Temp\<foldername>' doesn't exist !!!!??? What the hell is going
wrong with this #@!? way of doing a checkout ?
8-Choose: click NO and it will not proceed further - click YES... and see:
where this #@!?
is doing the checkout... in 'C:\Temp\<URLfoldername>' NOT, certainly NOT NOT,
into 'C:\..\Desktop\..\<folderofyourchoice>' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well now, I'm just asking you 2 little things:
1-Do you still not understand what I mean ?
2-Is this the correct behavior of this #@!? ?

Regards.

Lilian
