I should log my ICQ sessions to look up what I said exactly... I recall
saying that we could load the docs into the CMS as well, I never meant to
edit them there. Any CMS/FAQ tool is much better suited for the FAQ than a
static file could ever be. It's all about information retrieval and
reorganization.

Currently we don't have a single source FAQ. Most of it is in the Database
and parts of it are in the doc sources. I'd prefer it if we could create the
FAQ (even as a second document) from the database sources.

All I know is that Berlios creates cvs/svn snapshots. I haven't found a hint
on their backup policy, so I assume that they are not backing up web /
database content.

Because it's easy to upload, easy to automate creating releases, easy to
have our custom dowload page point to the right files automatically without
editing it and it looks like they offer more bandwidth and uptime than
berlios does.

OK, leave the archive of old releases (<= 1.1.7) on tigris.org. They are
there already. Nobody wants to have them scattered everywhere.

The other mirror is that persons private project. It can be removed from the
download page in a few seconds.

Berlios.de can be dropped completely. Move everything to sourceforge and
redirect the few berlios.de pages there. Wait a few months and erase the
project at berlios.

I know that tigris can handle the downloads.

Because you and I both don't like the installers distributed on several
hosts. I want them on one host as well and due to the performance
degradation we observed on berlios and the limited flexibility we have on
tigris, I prefer sourceforge.
Remember the discussion we had before we installed the FAQ and moved the
installers to berlios.de? You suggested sourceforge, I suggested berlios. We
agreed on berlios, because it looked smarter at that time and we also agreed
on watching the performance for a while and then decide upon the next step.
Up to now it wasn't a bandwidth problem, but service availabilitly that is
bugging us.

Grant, but you didn't answer my third question.

Cheers
