Status of Subclipse

Hi,

my company is currently checking if we should switch from CVS to
Subversion. As most of our developers are using Eclipse as the
developement platform, Subversion integration in Eclipse (we are using
Eclipse 2.1.1) is very important to us.

I'm using Subclipse for several month now and I'm very satisfied with
the plugin. The few bugs seem to be fixed very fast (thanks!) and so I
don't have any issues with the stability and performance of Subclipse.

What I'm really missing is the Merge operation.

Currently I'm forced to use the commandline client and TortoiseSVN to
gather information about different revisions and to merge branches.

I would like to know:

1) When could I expect merge support? 6 Months? 1 Year?
2) How active is the development for Subclipse? Any full-time
developers? Currently the website doesn't look too promising: Subclipse
0.9 linked against Subversion 0.37, a month after the 1.0 release of
Subversion.

Thanks,

Juergen
