Plans for 1.5

I am in the process of trying to gain adoption of SVN over MKS source
integrity within my company, this is with some difficulty.

One of the things preventing easy adoption is sparse checkouts. The other
is 'unsupported free software' (not my words).

I see from the issue tracker that non-recursive 'sparse' checkouts have been
broken for a long time, (too long - see issue 659) and as a result
TortoiseSVN will not support it until its fixed.

I see that fixing this one of the goals in SVN1.5, so, simple question: how
far off is a formal release of 1.5?

Does anybody use the current 1.5 build - what other problems should I expect
it I were to use it?
