RE: Subverions 1.4.3 and Apache 2.2 on Win2k?

Thanks, I might try that when I move everything to a new server, which may
happen in the next month or two. For now, I had no real commitment to the
Apache 2.2 other than wanting to be on latest and greatest so it was just as
easy to drop back to 2.0.

Seems like it would be nice if someone could compile from source SVN with
the apache 2.2 compatibility and make it available for down load.. I'd
offer, but unfortunately I've spent the last 15 years almost exclusively in
the Microsoft/VB development world and subsequently am shamefully ignorant
about things like ANT and it's been 17 years since I did any serious C
coding. So I would not be a good resource to attempt this.

Thanks again for the information though!

Hi Tom,

I have installed SVN 1.4.3 with Apache2.2.4 on Windows 2000 .And the
combination is working fine.

I had followed following steps:-

1. SVN Installation:-

Take svn-1.4.3-Setup.exe from

http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=91
<http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=91&expan
dFolder=91&folderID=260> &expandFolder=91&folderID=260.

Here you will find following warning!

" Windows binaries - ATTENTION!: The mod_dav_svn binaries available here are
NOT compatible with Apache 2.2 -- see the Windows Apache 2.2.x folder."

Now run 1.4.3 setup.exe (here it doesnot support apache 2.2.4)

 and then download svn-win32-1.4.3.zip ..from
http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=8100
<http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=8100&exp
andFolder=8100&folderID=91> &expandFolder=8100&folderID=91.

Extract this zip and replace bin , share, iconv folders created by running
svn-1.4.3-Setup.exe .

2. Install Apache 2.2.4.

3. Configure httpd.conf

4. Restart Apache service.

Just check if this can help you solve your problem.

Thanks & Regards,

Swati

Oh! Crud. OK, so I need to run Apache 2.0 then?

I'll give that try

Problem here is, I don't have those two files in SVN\bin. I've got:
libdb44.dll and intl3_svn.dll . I assume those are the two that I should be
copying. So I did that and put them in both the Apache\bin and
Apache\Modules directories. Still get the same error when starting Apache.

Where did you get the Subversion binaries you are using? The "normal"
binaries from tigris only work with Apache 2.0.x. Apache 2.2.x is not
binary compatible so you would need Subversion binaries built for 2.2.x.
