How do I install the "svn" client and NOT the server?

Hi all! This is probably a dumb question, but how do I install just
the client "svn" from the source tarball?

I didn't see a different download for the server versus the client or
any mention of building the client in the INSTALL document. I found
only two different source files - one called subversion-1.4.2.tar.bz2
and another called subversion-deps-1.4.2.tar.bz2.

I downloaded both of these and installed the "svnserve" server, but
was wondering how I just build the client? Am I missing something,
or do you always have to build the server for each client install?
