I think he means that once you tag, and your main branch changes, you want
main branch (trunk) to be automatically merged into the tag. If there is a
conflict, it should probably be fixed by that tagged code. Can we get svn to
do this automatically and its more of a feature of a client?

What, specifically, are you looking for that subversion does not do?
