I've been using ViewCVS (Now ViewVC) since they started supporting
Subversion in their beta program. They started as a CVS viewer and had
the Subversion beta for almost 2 years (that I know of). They changed
the name now that they fully support Subversion. And it does do side by
side diff.

It has a pretty decent set of features (different kinds of diff,
multiple project viewing, multiple repository viewing in one config, and
more that you can read on their site). The one feature that I liked was
the multi-repository config from one view config. A lot of the others
that I looked at don't allow this. So if you have multiple repositories
on your server, this is a good feature.

Frank
