That sounds interesting...

It's not really clear from the docs on the website. To get those
benefits, is it sufficient to update just the client? Or just the
server? Or will it only show up if I update both?

If client or both... is there a way to get these benefits on Windows
with TortoiseSVN, or will that have to wait until the Tortoise team
brings them across? If the former, how would I do that?
