Netapps NAS(NFS) and FSFS?

We are using a NetApps Network Area Storage device for our Linux(NFS
mounted) and Windos home directories. I want to move my FSFS based
subversion repository to the NetApps for its high availability RAID and
backup technology. That particular directory will only be exported back
to one server machine so my users will still have to "svn+ssh" to access
the repository. Some questions:

1/ Based on reading the FAQ, RedBook, etc., it's only the Berkley based
subversion repository that can't be NFS mounted. FSFS based repository
can?
Any issues or concerns to watch out for?

2/ If question#1 is true, can I let the NetApps software preform an
arbitrary backup of the subversion repository without using hotcopy,
etc.?

Thanks Brent
