wedging problem

I'm a subversion user, not an admin.

I'm importing some large vendor branches into a repository, and it
keeps getting wedged. Is there a size constraint for how much I should
process at one time?

This happens from my account on a redhat machine,

   svn, version 1.1.1 (r11581)
   compiled Dec 21 2004, 09:41:18

and from my XP machine as well.

   svn, version 1.1.1 (r11581)
   compiled Dec 21 2004, 09:41:18

e.g. I'm importing part of ImageMagick. It's huge.
