Perhaps I'm being naive, but would it make sense to have svnserve perform
the necessary Windows API calls to provide information to the service
management subsystem?

Obviously these would only be compiled in when targetting Windows, but
unless I'm missing something, it should be pretty easy to do...

Benefits would include being able to integrate without additional software,
as well as reporting back more accurate start/stop ETAs (perhaps...
that would be a little less trivial).

I haven't looked at the Subversion source, and I don't have an appropriate
build environment on Windows to test it, but I'm happy to take a look and
maybe post a "theory" patch.

Comments? Stumbling blocks?
