RE: setting up apache/subversion... building subversion from source!!!

From: bruce <bedouglas_at_earthlink.net>

in reviewing how to build subversion from source, i'm trying to get an
understanding of the './configure' atributes that have to be added. i
already have svnserve up/running, and i have httpd2.x, so i don't want to
upset my current env...

what i think i'd like to do is simply rebuild subversion/svnserve/svn and
have it use the existing berkeley 4.2.52 that i already have, along with the
neon/apr libs...

it appears that i should be able to simply use the 'configure' that is in
the subversion dir, with the appropriate configure attributes. this should
get me a working version of the svnserve with the updated db libs...

so, the question is, what are the correct attributes that i should use???
also, if i want to plave the svn/svnserve binaries in the same location as
the current apps, what attributes permit this to occur???

thanks for any pointers/comments...

regards

-bruce

"Bad database version: compiled with 4.0.14, running
against 4.2.52"

This is the real problem, the other errors are because the paths aren't
correct.

I'm not sure if this is because of a conflict between how Apache was
compiled and how Subversion was compiled (Subversion made the db files
as one version, but apache is accessing it as a different version), or
because of some library path problem. Rebuilding apache and
subversion, both using the same berkeley database libraries should fix
it, but is not a trivial task.
