I don't blame Subversion's authors at all for not including this support
for Windows. Starting a daemon on Unix is as easy as a fork(). Windows
requires you to jump through crazy hoops to get this functionality.

Firedaemon is an excellent tool though, and very well-suited to tools
such as svnserve. It would be a good idea for the Win32 notes to point
to this tool, and possibly include the FireDaemon definition file with
the Win32 distribution as well.
