segmentation faults all over

Hello,

I just installed subversion from the most recent tar ball (1.0.2) on my SuSE 9.0
machine. After going through the configure/make/make install sucessfully, I was
able to create a repository and import some files. But now, when I try to do a
checkout (from the local repository as well as from anywhere else), I always
get a segmentation fault. Something is fundamentally wrong, obviously... Can
anyone help?
