You're right - looks like that tar file was created *after* I started
fiddling with svn - my apologies :-)

Like I said, somehow you managed to clobber the .svn/entries file, most
probably by overwriting it with a different version (perhaps from a
different repository?). I have no idea what was in you tar file, but
that's the symptom I in from your transcript.
