Re: FW: Subversion 1.0.1 Win32 version

Hi,

just needing to chime in my 2c, I'd just like to ask if it was ever considered
to add support for MinGW compilation for Windows.

AFAICS, this should not be too hard, as the *NIX version is already compiled
under GCC anyway.
The required SDK for Windows can be downloaded for free from MS, and MinGW is
also free.

Additionally, then the entire process up to creating ZIPs would be scriptable,
and perhaps the thing would get cross-compileable under *NIX, enabling
automated builds from the tar balls.

I never used MinGW before, so I have no idea what that means for a project of
this size. Anyone want to comment?

Things also to consider:
- Apache issues (does mod_dav_svn work in binary Apache distribs if compiled
by MinGW?)
- do Python bindings compiled by MinGW work in binary Python distrib?

etc.pp.

Greetings,
        Joerg
