i'll openly admit that my previous posting regarding the summersoft repo
was pretty harsh, but i wanted to make sure folks understood my basic
point -- that repo will break your system if used as is; i'm saying this
from personal experience.

quite simply, if you can't follow the rules in creating public
repositories, you shouldn't be doing it, because it's not just *your*
machine you're risking, it's everyone else's that updates off of that
repository.

the summersoft repo doesn't just skirt the edge of what's acceptable -- it
goes *way* over the line in terms of breaking compatibility, and that's
why i came down so hard on it.
