And obviously as most often is - tragically ;-) - the case... the
problem isn't with the software but with that /&"%#¤% person at the
keyboard.

I downloaded the latest glibc rpm for *i686* from Red Hat and forced it
onto the machine... and now everything works as it should again.

Oh well, besides sort of making a fool of myself I got to verify that
the backup routine actually works in a real situation!

So ... subversion ROCKS... while I hide in a corner ;-)
