I have one idea: could the problem be that something significant
might have changed in Subversion between versions 0.27 and 0.29 and
you didn't know about it? Could it be that you upgraded your
Subversion -- a not-even-beta piece of software -- without even
reading its release notes or CHANGES file?

I dunno. Just an idea.
