Thanks, that was it. I didn't think Apache would have anything to do
with the DB.

Current status: I can view the repository again using my web browser,
and am trying to get SVN::Web to work (having reconfigured subversion
with --with-swig); the documentation for this is rather sparse.

I'm also trying to debug the crash in svn_path_join() in my BeOS svn
client.
