RE: Suggestion for FAQ update

Ben, I was running regedit from the "Run..." prompt which says it launches tasks with administrative privileges; I did not try right clicking registry editor on the start menu and choosing run as administrator. I would assume that would effectively be running it the same was as the Run prompt but not sure.

I agree it is far from ideal to have to download a third party tool to do this, I was just thrilled to find a solution... was very close to giving up.

Just out of curiosity, does right-clicking the Registry Editor and choosing "Run as administrator" have the same effect? I've never had problems editing the registry as long as this measure is taken.

Presumably, Patrick tried that, but ya hate to get a third party utility involved if Windows' built-in privilege escalation facility is sufficient.
