I think it looks into MSI database.
I wonder what version it actually finds. Maybe some version other than
1.6.7 did not uninstall properly. It is known that there were some
problems with installs prior to 1.6.10.
The article [2] describes how to enable Windows installer logging.
Maybe you will find something there.
