To what end? You didn't explain how the .svn folders pose a problem,
except for saying "It's not working". How and why does "the application"
interfere with these folders? Why does it remove folders? What problem
would making the files writeable solve?

Or do you talk about your IDE creating and deleting folders? Are you
using Eclipse? Install Subclipse.
