I think you're missing the point Stefan was making. The code is freely
available and if your change doesn't dovetail into the priorities &
schedules of the core developers (I imagine they're hard at work with
all the changes required for Subversion 1.7), you will be best off
implementing it yourself and contributing the work back if you want to
see it soon. That's how Open Source works.
If you already have an idea of what should be done (requirements) and
believe that it is "not too difficult to implement", then you should
have less difficulty implementing it than another developer because
you already understand the problem and solution. Getting to the point
where you can say with certainty that it is "not too difficult" should
be a good portion of the effort needed to actually make the change.
If you *don't* understand the TSVN & Subversion code to the degree
needed to be able to make such a statement, please don't tell someone
who does understand it whether something will be difficult or not.
