Options of <---> could not connect to server <---->

I have been using Tortoise SVN happily for a while and now it persistently fails, with this error message.
 
The repository still works fine from another computer and I can view the archves using a web browser (which suggests that it is not a firewall problem?) from the computer where I get this error.
 
The last successful action in the log was a Revert, after that everything has failed.
 
Any suggestions on how to diagnose what is happening please?
 
I'm running Version: TortoiseSVN 1.6.11, Build 20210 - 64 Bit - On Windows.
