you should use the url
https://nhibernate.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/nhibernate/trunk

Otherwise you're checking out the *whole* repository, including all tags
and branches! That can easily add up to several gigabytes!

no need to include the 'url' in your path to your working copy. but that
shouldn't be the problem.

When do you get this dialog? Right at the start? After you click the OK
button of the checkout dialog? When the progress dialog pops up? During
the checkout? At the end of the checkout?
