Ok source of problem found.

I have a drive mapped to a work-based network drive (actually I have 3) which I can only access when connected to work via vpn. The hang only occurs if I am working offline (vpn disconnected) so these mappings are inaccessible. If vpn is connected, no hang. If vpn is disconnected and I unmap the network drives, no hang.

So at least I have a workaround, to unmap the drives when offline and remap them when online and I need access to them.

However, for convenience it would be preferable to leave these mapped all the time. My tsvn overlay settings only have the fixed drives checkbox selected and I have tried adding the network drives to the explicit 'excludes' list but again no joy. Is there anything else I could try in the tsvn config that might help?
