TortoiseSVN overlays don't show up in one specific directory/folder

I've been Googling like crazy, but couldn't find it. Or the right
keywords. Either way, for one folder (top level) it doesn't show the
overlays for all underlying folders, but the underlying ones work just
like they should. So to give an example:

When in explorer I go to C:\repos it doesn't show up for the folders
project1, project2 etc.. but when I enter any of these, all the
overlays are there.

Whenever I copy the whole thing to another directory, they DO show up.
Now I have tried to switch to 'shell', but that's not recursive, which
is something I really do want.

System is on a Vista x64 install. Anyone got the slightest clue?
