My suggestion is only for the case where the file list pane would
otherwise be empty. If "Show unversioned files" was selected, then
maybe the message "There are no unversioned files in this view".
Likewise, "There an no ignored files in this view" for "Show ignored
files".

The idea being to show some contextually relevent message that will,
hopefully, be less confusing to new users. This is particularly
applicable when launching the "Check for modifications" dialog from
inside an IDE. (We are using CodeWright.)
