feature request: "get log messages" performance

Sorry if this has been asked before. I did my very best to find out and couldn' t find something "suitable".
But as this is my first post to the list... ;-)

Anyway, here we go...

When I want to see the log messages I sometimes have to wait for quite a long time (e.g. 1 minute).
It is probably because TortoiseSvn always gets the extended log messages. And then a lot of filenames
have to be "transfered".
If I do the same thing with the command line tools then the difference is sometimes like "less than 1 second" <=> "almost one minute".
This can be quite annoying if I just want to see the log messages.
Maybe it's possible to get the log messages first and display them and then afterwards (in the "background") get the extended information.
