independent log window

hello
is there a way to open the log message area (in the commit.. dialog) to an
independent window? so i can type my changes as i work, if not possible i'd
like to see that feature in future versions, because when i commit it's hard
to remember all the things i did, another way is use an external app like
notepad and then copy-paste.
