TortoiseSVN symlinks on Windows?

Starting with Windows Vista, there is full support for all kinds of symlinks but TortoiseSVN is not able to work with them.

I am aware that there is a *static* page with this feature request at http://tortoisesvn.net/node/293 - but people cannot vote/comment on this feature. In addition I really don't get why the tracker is closed for people outside the team but this is another problem.

Are any plans on solving this issue in the near future?
