Merge should ask first?

Hello,

Being this my first post, I must first congratulate you all for the great piece of software.

Going to the point:

I would feel better working if there were an option to warn the user before an automatic merge action... This can happen when you do a svn update, for example, with no warning at all. This way one can option to proceed to the merging or asking other colleagues from work if they changed anything on the sources (or check the log, of course).
