What about backward compatibility?

Tortoise and SlikSVN released 1.6 but users don't see new clients for
Eclipse yet.
So this is a problem for users.

Mixing version results problems for Eclipse users - unreadable
checkout, lock conflicts etc. I tested this on my own.
