Lion, did you read the entire discussion? I haven't heard any feedback
on my "drop-down arrow button like IE" suggestion in a separate e-mail.
  It would get rid of the combo box AND static text message altogether
in favor of a slender drop down arrow button "attached" to the
right-hand side of the edit box. Clicking it would open a right-aligned
menu "attached" to the bottom of the button like the Forward and Back
button drop-arrows do in IE.
