Sure, you can't check out in an already versioned folder, so the menu
is not shown.
If you want to check out another path inside your working copy, first
create an new empty folder where you want to check out the subpath,
then right-click on that folder.

If you only have some folders which aren't 'checked out yet', use the
Update command!
