its usually not a bad habit to keep your working copy even if you are
finished with the project. not only do you have a reference for future
projects, you also have a local backup of the db. it cant hurt to have as
many backups as possible, especially for a closed source project.

for the disk space argument, i thought that in the times of cheap 250gb HDs,
disk space is no longer an issue.

you could also work on a few projects and kill a few old directories when
you run out of disk space.
