Totally non-versioned, empty, new folder, created on the desktop?

I'm not sure I understand the question.

Perhaps it only happens if you have another, versioned, folder somewhere on
your desktop all the while?

Thanks for reproducing the status-not-updated thing so we know that it's
just not my bizarre cache config that's playing tricks but a real bug :-).
