I had to uninstall TortoiseSVN, because else the utf-8.so file would not
have been unlocked by all the processes.

I too, checked with process, and of course tortoise was not in the list,
but as it is "hook" script or so, it might hide behind other processes,
so yes, tortoiseSVN is the problem with the upgrade.
