All the above is focusing on log messages being the thing that's lost if
your commit dialog closes unexpectedly. I usually have a different
concern: that the commit dialog itself will close. Why? Because I
often work on very large trees that can take several minutes for the
commit dialog to get the status of. If the commit dialog closes
accidentally I've got to wait all over again.
