I don't get angry about off topic questions. I just get angry if people
don't follow the rules ;)

So you don't need a book about Visual C++ but a book about COM.
I suggest you go to http://www.codeproject.com/ and have a look at the
book reviews section, and of course the COM tutorials on that site.
That should be a good start.
