Re: [TSVN] Installation problem

Thanks for the timely response Nathan,

However it looks like this query has created some interest, so perhaps it's
appropriate that I put in my bit as an absolute newcomer.
I would not regard myself as a "stupid, lazy person" put perhaps others
might. Rather I see the problem as one of perception, particularly with
the term "shell extension" which I don't think I had come across before.

While I now know what is meant by this piece of jargon I still find it
interesting as I viewed a process such as bash, dos etc as a shell and
Windows Explorer as what would be viewed in Linux/Unix terms as simply
another file manager. However a quick Google search reveals that the term
"shell extension" has now been appropriated to mean Windows Explorer
extension.

In any case I guess I subconsciously overlooked this term as a detail I
would pick up later.

And yes looking back at the TVN home page there is an image of Windows
Explorer, but I must admit that even when I knew, I had to look twice
before I distinguished it from a standard gui, perhaps because I had never
seen the icon overlays at that stage.

So from my perspective I think I would have found it useful if "Windows
Explorer extension" was used rather than "Shell integration", and perhaps
have recognised the image a bit better if it had looked less cluttered,
and had the familiar Explorer look, with only some icon overlays.

Please regard my comments as constructive rather than as a critique.

And thanks very much to the creators of this fine work.

I think I've learnt more about version control using this visual approach
than I have in a few hours reading manuals. And I hope you don't mind the
odd "stupid" question as I progress

Cheers to all
Tony
