[TSVN] slow down in non-explorer windows

I recently upgraded from TSVN 1.0.3 to 1.0.8. Before the upgrade, it
ran quite well in non-explorer windows (like the file browser in my
IDE). After the upgrade, it slowed to a crawl... unusably slow. Still
works great from explorer, but now I can't use it in my IDE. :-(

Is there a setting somewhere that would fix this, or is it something
with TSVN itself?
