Windows XP, Eclipse Galileo for PHP
- Clean install. No other plugins. Right-clicking a resource brings up context menu immediately.
- Install Subclipse 1.6.x. Restart. Right-clicking a resource hangs entire app for 2+ minutes, depending on size of project, it seems.
- Wiped, clean install of Eclipse. Install Subclipse 1.4.x. Restart. Right-clicking a resource works fine as before.
- Upgrade Subclipse 1.4.x to 1.6.x. Restart. Right-clicking HANGS.
- Uninstall 1.6.12. Restart. Downgrade to 1.6.9. Same problem.
- Tried clean installs of 1.6.9, 1.6.5, and 1.6.2.1, all have the same issue, but the hang takes less time on previous patches... about 20 seconds to show right-click menu on 1.6.2.1. Large projects still seem to hang indefinitely.
- Uninstalled 1.6.x and reinstalled 1.4.x. Restart. Right-click works fine.
When I say it depends on size of project... say I have site1.com and site2.com in the PHP Explorer. If I right-click any file in site1.com (which is a fairly small code base), Eclipse will hang for about 1-2 minutes and the context menu will eventually appear. If I right-click a file in site2.com, which is a pretty large site, I've seen it run 8-10 minutes and I still don't have control of the app and have to kill Eclipse and restart.
No idea what kind of iteration is happening in the 1.6.x branch to do that, or if it's related to a separate library. Just wanted to put it out there. I've seen this problem posted around the Net a little bit, but not here - so wasn't sure whether I should submit it as an issue or not.
